Varieties:
There are thousands of varieties of daffodils, separated into 11 different divisions depending on blossom type
 
Colors:
The large yellow daffodil is the most common and popular. Varieties come in all shades of yellow and white, but some have green, orange, apricot, pink, or crimson coloring. 
 
 
Scent:
Most varieties have a clean, sweet scent, but some, such as the paper-white narcissus Ziva, can be almost overpowering. 
 
Freshness:
All varieties should be cut or purchased in bud stage.The spray varieties may have one or two blossoms opening. 
 
Vase Life:
3 to 5 days, sometimes less.
 
Availability:
Daffodil flowers and narcissus flower are available from winter through spring. Paper-whites are available at Christmas time, usually as potted plants. Bulbs are available in the fall for planting outdoors and forcing indoors.
 
Cost:
Winter - moderately priced.
Spring - inexpensive. 
 
Meaning:
The flower of graciousness. The red camellia is for loveliness.

Plant daffodil flowers among other plants and bulbs in the garden.The bulbs and flowers are poisonous, and will help keep ani­mals and pests from feasting on the garden.
